Lead Linux Implementation Engineer

Location Lod, Israel (Hybrid) Department Reports to the CTO Employment Type Spring 2026

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Linux expert to lead the implementation of our solution in enterprise customer environments.

This is a technical, customer-facing role focused on Linux infrastructure, troubleshooting, and security hardening. You will be responsible for deploying, customizing, and supporting our product in real-world production environments.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the systems, solving complex problems, and taking ownership from implementation through ongoing support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end implementation of CalCom’s Linux solution in enterprise environments
  • Perform hands-on Linux hardening across large production systems
  • Install, integrate, and configure the CalCom CHS platform
  • Provide Tier 1 & Tier 2 support, including troubleshooting and issue resolution
  • Investigate system behavior related to security policies, OS configurations, and infrastructure changes
  • Customize and automate deployments using scripting tools
  • Work closely with Product and R&D teams to improve the solution based on real customer needs
  • Collaborate directly with customer IT and infrastructure teams

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration in production environments
  • Strong experience with RHEL / OEL / AWS Linux / Ubuntu
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex system and infrastructure issues
  • Experience with scripting (Bash / Shell / Python)
  • Experience with LDAP systems
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible / Puppet / Chef)
  • Familiarity with enterprise infrastructure (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers

Additional Requirement:
Ability to pass security background checks required for working with financial institutions

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Linux hardening (CIS benchmarks or similar)

About the Role

CalCom is seeking a visionary and hands-on R&D Manager to lead our engineering efforts and drive the technical evolution of our flagship cyber product focused on automated device hardening.

This is a hybrid leadership + hands-on role, combining ownership of product development with direct responsibility for complex customer environments and production support. You will bridge the gap between strategy, execution, and real-world deployments, ensuring our solutions perform reliably in enterprise environments.

You will work closely with the Product team to translate product vision into scalable, secure, and high-performing systems—while also ensuring strong support for existing customers and deployments.

With AI tools rapidly shifting the R&D landscape, you will also lead and orchestrate our AI transformation into aligning our product development to advance and adopt rapid development models.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the R&D team, fostering a culture of ownership, quality, and accountability
  • Own the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment and maintenance
  • Work closely with Product and Architecture to translate roadmap into scalable, secure solutions
  • Provide hands-on support to enterprise customers, especially in Linux-based environments
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues, including failures caused by hardening, upgrades, or infrastructure changes
  • Support and oversee deployments at key customers, ensuring stability and performance
  • Manage environments across Windows and Linux (multiple flavors), including application operation on Windows systems
  • Work with enterprise technologies such as Active Directory, SQL, and IIS
  • Write and maintain scripts (PowerShell, VBScript) as needed
  • Balance urgent customer needs with long-term product and architectural improvements

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in R&D leadership roles, preferably in cybersecurity or enterprise software
  • Strong hands-on experience with Windows and Linux environments (including hardening and IT Administration)
  • Proven ability to support enterprise customers worldwide and troubleshoot complex system issues
  • Experienceworking with AI tools, Active Directory, SQL, IIS, and scripting tools (PowerShell, VBScript)
  • Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to operate under pressure and manage both development and production challenges
  • Excellent communication skills in Hebrew and English
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field (M.Sc. – advantage)
